How to Lose Weight After Giving Birth

When you have had a baby, caring for a newborn can leave you so exhausted that you don't feel like doing most things, especially working out. This makes it very unlikely that you will go to the gym or go outside for a run (or even a walk). Plus, new babies require their mothers to be by their sides almost all of the time. Not only will you lack the motivation for working out, you'll have to work hard to find the time for it as well. Here is some good news: in this article we will outline three things you can do in your own home, while your baby takes a nap, that will help you quickly shed pounds and get back to your pre-baby weight. What's better than that?

Leg Kicks: This is a fantastic workout both for strengthening your abs and raising your heart rate. To begin, lay on your side with your body slightly bent at the waist in a pike position. Keep the bottom leg bent for balance and then straighten your top leg and bring it as far forward as you can manage. Keeping your leg up, bring it back so that it hovers over your bottom (bent) leg. Without lowering your leg, repeat the movement ten times. Roll over and repeat on the other side. Just three reps on each side each day and you'll get the results you want very quickly.

The Super Crunch: This is an abdominal exercise that should be included in every post-natal routine. In this particular exercise lie down, bend your knees and keep your feet flat on the floor. Keep your hands behind your head while, as you inhale and exhale, you lift your head and your shoulders off of the floor. Then, keep that position while you bring your knees up to touch your elbows while also lifting your hips a little bit up off of the ground. Return to your starting position. Do three sets of twelve to twenty and your abdominals will be rock hard in no time, and that weight will start coming off too.

Walking: Harvard commissioned a study in 2007 that proved that a half an hour of walking every day improves a woman's likelihood of losing her post-pregnancy weight. Women in this study lost an average of eleven pounds and most of them had lost all of the weight they wanted to lose by their kids's first birthdays. So: go outside and get some fresh air! It doesn't matter what time of day you choose to walk, but if you are going to take your baby with you make sure you choose weather that is baby friendly.

Also, make sure you bring plenty of liquids with you. Taking a walk every day will help you drop pounds very quickly. If you do these exercises regularly, they'll give you amazing results in just a few weeks. You can do this while your new baby takes a nap and you can spread them out throughout the day instead of trying to do all of them in one block of time. Of course, it is even easier to shed weight if you do them all at once at least three times a week (or any other 20-30 minute workout three times each week). So if you do these exercises as often as your body can handle it you'll get back to your pre-baby size in no time. Article courtesy of: face mask recipes for acne
