Printing your materials is usually outsourced to companies who have their very own equipment. The wisdom in this is so that they will not have to deal with the rising cost of maintaining a printing press or printing equipments. You have to admit that it can get costly to maintain the printers which runs large and huge banners and posters and even newspapers and magazines. Here are some of the things that you should know about running a published newspaper or magazine.
Number one is the pre-press production. Before the job can be printed, the document needs to be converted to film or “plates”. Today though you can have them printed immediately from your digital file. The images are transferred to the printing plates which are then prepared to be transferred onto the paper. Aluminum and paper are some of the materials used for the printing plates. The best material to use is aluminum, but it is costly.
When you are looking for a professional printer for your business call us at San Diego printers. We also do offset printing so call us for our offset printing.
Second step is the press run. There are different ways to run your plates and print them into paper. You can choose the simplest which is offset lithography. You can use this to print a huge number of material in a short span of time. The paper is fed through the press at a continuous stream, and the contents from the plates are transferred to them. You can use a continuous roll and cut the papers afterwards, or pre cut to size before printing.
Number three is the bindery process. The bindery is where the printed product is completed. The huge rolls of printed paper are cut and placed together so that the pages are in order. They are binded after making sure that the papers are aligned for those which do not need cutting. Staple or glue can be used for binding. They will then check if the paper are aligned after binding. They ship it out to client afterwards.
You have just read some of the steps that are done for printing production. Make sure that you check the quality of the printed material before you ship it out.
