I know it sounds very un-Christian of me since Christmas means much more than that. It's just that I'm not a very religious persona and the real meaning of Christmas often slips from my mind.

The media often portray this festivity as the time of Christmas tree, girt-giving, being with loved ones, and carols. But it actually means celebrating the birth of Christ. Christians usually forget this. I wonder if they really think, “Oh, it's Christmas. It's time to give thanks for having Jesus in my life.” But no. People often think Christmas is worthless if you don't get to spend it with the people you love. That's kind of not true. Because really, Christmas just really means devoting some time for Jesus.

This, sadly, is often forgotten by your truly. Christmas time for me is an escape from all the research paper writing I need to do for school. Christmas time also means Christmas shopping, a.k.a. headache and depleted savings. It also means eating a little too much until I cane at no longer. It means taking in all the crap from annoying family members like that third-degree cousin. I wish I can just focus on the festive atmosphere but I'm not wired that way. More often, I focus on the bad sides of things. I wish I don't but that's just the way it is.
